Philosophy of Care
If we were to describe our practice in one word, that word would be
“balanced.” We focus on complete oral health, not quick fixes. After all, the health of the mouth affects the health of the entire body. Each patient is treated as family—which means we will welcome you and make you feel at home. Our goal is to offer the best quality care possible, keep you comfortable during your procedures, and make sure that your results will last for a long time. While some practices may embrace every new technology out there, we make sure that the technology we invest in isn’t just flashy and quick. It’s not enough to say, “It’s new.” After all, there are many materials newly available to modern dentistry, and they may be faster
and easier to use, but they aren’t necessarily stronger. That’s why we carefully assess each patient’s unique situation. In the case of bonding procedures, we use techniques such as micro air abrasion, which require more time and skill. But those patients are going to get long-lasting and durable results. On the other hand, we have been a leader in our use of laser technology. This kind of technology tends to be a rarity at dental practices. However, Gulf Coast Dental has invested in these devices and equipment and training because of its superior outcomes. For example, lasers make it possible to treat periodontal disease by not opening up the gums and doing invasive treatments. The benefits to our patients are invaluable.

Who Are Our Patients?

All patients are welcomed into our family here. They get the kind of
treatment that we would give to members of our own families.
Our patients include both adults and children—people of all ages and
from walks of life. Since this a military community; some of our patients
remain in the area, and others eventually move on to other places.
We are in a very convenient location in Niceville, which means that we
get to know many of our neighbors in Bluewater, Destin, Sandestin,
Santa Rosa, Rosemary, Miramar Beach, Fort Walton, Crestview, Freeport, and DeFuniak Springs. For some of our patients in Destin, we are easy to access, but there is a toll bridge. Since they’re all friends and neighbors, we are happy to cover their cost as they travel past the toll bridge to get to our practice. Our loyal patients come to us for a wide variety of types of treatments: cleanings, white cosmetic fillings, preventive care, tooth or gum rejuvenation, clear braces, (Invisalign®) partials and dentures, oral  cancer screening, inlays and onlays, veneers, crown and bridges, implants,
extractions and teeth whitening, among many other procedures. Time permitting, we are pleased to offer same day treatment as well. Also we accept walk-ins and those with dental emergencies.

A Focus on Technology

We closely assess which technology is truly useful when it comes to
comfort, effectiveness, durability, and patient health. The DIAGNOdent, which we use for all patients, is invaluable because it provides a way to look underneath the surface. It looks beyond the enamel and is able to find areas that potentially have problems. We treat problems early, and that enables us to keep the entire tooth structure strong and long-lasting. We are one of the few practices in the area that offer FDA-cleared PerioLase®. This laser technology that makes an enormous difference in our patients’ lives, and the treatments cause far less discomfort, pain, and swelling. Because lasers sterilize the tissue, the risk for infection is much lower. We utilize the T-scan digital occlusal analysis system which is state-of-the-art. It provides 2D and 3D analysis and makes it possible to preserve dental structure by analyzing occlusion and bite issues before they become problems—we can monitor changes over time to decide whether any treatment is needed. Other technologies that benefit our patients include digital X-rays, intraoral cameras and Rotary Endodontic Instruments, which make root canals simpler and less invasive. We also offer sleep apnea devices and guards which fundamentally change patients’ sleep quality and health and the Pinhole Surgical Technique, which is gum rejuvenation that avoids the use of scalpel or sutures.

Educating our Patients
We firmly believe that oral health is a gateway to overall health. Many people do not realize that not addressing oral issues can lead to infections or bacteria in the bloodstream; reduced chewing capacity; and even more serious, systemic diseases. Our patients know that oral care is an investment in overall health. We provide educational videos and links on our website for patients. Our philosophy is the more you understand that we are here to help you with your overall health, the more you are likely to understand why we focus on complete oral health rather than quick fixes. We also place an emphasis on education when it comes to our team. Throughout his dental career, Dr. Robinette has continued to take courses to stay abreast of the best techniques and technologies. The team at Gulf Coast Dental also puts their time and resources into not only technology, but also continuing education. The technology is only as good as the skill with which we use it. We pride ourselves on staying knowledgeable about new developments. Our approach is to watch carefully so we know which ones will help our patients, and then seek the training to make the most of the science.

Our People

We want the best for you. Our team is comprised of true health professionals who take pride in expert service and quality of care. We are a friendly, caring group of people who embrace any client that wants to join our family. Here, you get the family feel but with state-of-the-art technology. It’s the perfect combination. “I always know that my patients are getting the best. I know them and their history; and they know I am personally invested in their well-being.” –Dr. Robinette

Changing Lives
Our faces, and especially our smiles, are the first things people notice about each other. Great dental care can make a huge difference in how you feel about yourself, whether you are straightening or whitening your teeth, fixing a broken crown, or getting implants or dentures.
When you know your smile looks good, you feel confident. When your dentures are secure and comfortable, you can eat and socialize with comfort. And that confidence and comfort radiate outward to the people around you.  Confidence also comes with  knowing that you are taking care of yourself inside and out. The peace of mind that comes with knowing that your teeth and gums are healthy and structurally sound; and
that their health has such a significant impact on the health of your body—that peace of mind cannot be measured.
Let us help you change your life for the better, bringing health, confidence, and joy to yourself and to those around you!
